A police chase in Texas turns into a fatal shootout with a known criminal

Two deputies shoot Joe Thornton, 29, on June 16 2006 after he led them on a chase that ended in a cornfield about 12 miles east of Georgetown. Detective John Foster, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, has said that the deputies had "no alternative but to use deadly force," saying Thornton, who was riding on a motorcycle, pulled a handgun.

  • @17viris amen to that brother

  • @Dixafix ya, the people that say those things about cops are breaking the law as we speak.

  • @ShadowHawk05 were did you see the cops do any wrong doing? the guy grabbed a handgun!!!

  • Cops have a fucking license to kill... cleared of any wrong doing

  • The rider is of course a stupid jack ass, but its clear he can drive the shit out of that bike.

  • Good job for those officers! The way they handled their cars and kept after him was amazing. a LOT of respect towards them.

  • Well ya DUGHHHH .. Of corse the guy was graving a gun.. The police were in the Right

  • he deserved it... running away from the cops and pullin out a gun? if the cops didnt shoot him the cops wouldve been the one dead...

  • These guys were great. I think it's good he died. If he had responded to their wishes he would have gone to jail and used up taxpayer dollars there, then lived to make meth another day, and get more people addicted and involved in the drug trade. They should have killed him and a lot of other drug dealers way earlier. So if either of you cops are reading this comment, I say you did a good job.
