This is the SKU.35288 LED bulb with a dimmer on it. and this explains what happens if you use a dimmer. It works down to 86v and then it starts flickering, and when under 200v it makes a horrible whine.

  • the worst noise ever

  • Is the flickering caused by the bulb or by the dimmer switch - most dimmers get their power through the bulb and need a minimum wattage (usually around 30w) being pulled by the bulb to work correctly, a normal 20w bulb will also flicker like that when used with most dimmers. A more interesting test would be to fit an LED bulb into a 2 or 3 bulb ceiling rose keeping one regular bulb fitted (either filament type or halogen) to make sure the dimmer has enough power and see if the LED will then dim.

  • well use a proper DC dimmer, AC dimmers dont work on DC LEDS

Not Even LED lights rectified to AC.. It has to be on a DC circuit with a DC Dimmer switch :-\
