It honestly isn't that cruel. 99.999999% of bees are worker bees, meaning they are haploid (only have one set of chromosomes) and do not have even individualistic animal thoughts. For example, a dog or a bear have some sort of care for their well-being and can experience pain and have reaction. Bees and other colony insects don't. they will throw themselves in the hundreds in a suicide mission to keep a bear away from a nest. So excuse me if I find this hilarious
