Increased Raids and Checkpoint Arrests Endanger Undocumented Immigrants Threatened by Gulf Coast Storms
Undocumented immigrants along the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast have resisted mandatory evacuation orders out of fear they could be arrested and deported at checkpoints. The climate of fear around deportation has worsened as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, or ICE, continues to step up its raids across the country, with two of the largest raids in US history taking place in the last five months. We speak to David Bacon, award-winning photojournalist, labor organizer and immigrant rights activist and author of Illegal People: How Globalization Creates Migration and Criminalizes Migrants. [includes rush transcript]

C SPAN “Black Republican Forum” Session 2 (begin at 11:30) Allen West said one of the 1986 caveats was to secure our borders and enforcement our laws, but haven’t happened. (We’re still talking about new amnesty like DREAM Act.) We can’t allow local cities to make sanctuary cities policies, because they will bring our inner city turf wars to epic proportions by bringing in the drug cartel and Columbian gangs. (Mexican Gangs don’t recognize our borders established by the Treaty of Guadalupe)

In November 2010, the unemployment rate was 9.8% with 15.1 million unemployed. (15.1 million/9.8%) = 154 million are able to work in the workforce. 11,941,812 (or 11.9 million) skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. GOOGLE “illegal immigration counters”, the 15.1 million unemployed could take the 11.9 million available jobs. The unemployment rate could be reduced to 2.1% {{15.1-11.9)/154}

Incorrect!
Illegals should be prosecuted and sent back to their original land!!
I am not a supporter of ILLEGALS! Why would any American? The word "Illegal"....do you understand what that means??
If a stranger breaks into your home "Illegally"- you have the right to shoot/kill that intruder! Why would all these illegals be any different??

I ve been out of work for quite a while.I work residential construction in AZ. Which is a 'right to work state' which boils down to 'your pay is based on what wetbacks will accept for pay'
I hate the contractors with their all wetback field support and their arrogant barely legal foremen and supers.
I saw it coming but did nothing and ive been black balled myself with a few contractors who thankfully folded.
It has been a difficult decade dealing with stupid wetbacks so I'm done with the trade

Our new segregation. ICE is the new Gestapo. If these were whites from Canada who we forced into immigration, we would accept and deal with the consequences much more easily. But racism is what makes people vote.

Persecuting? No, prosecuting criminals isn't persecution. For entering our country is a CRIME. So why would enforcing the law be persecution?
Migrant workers make up only 3 percent of the total of illegals in our country, The other 97 percent do other type jobs. Including skilled blue-collar jobs paying more than many college-grad school teachers get [plumbers, electricians, auto mechanics, etc.].
