Upon encouragement from our speech therapist, and with new utensils designed for a firmer grip, Zachary is now achieving another "independence" milestone by being able to feed himself. As parents, we have to "let go" of any kind of neat/clean tendencies we may have and just let Zachary get messy while experimenting with food. Renee taught him to use this specific spoon during breakfast time with yogurt and he ate the whole bowl by himself. He is also recently been picking up small "Teddy Grahams" from his tray and feeding himself snacks. These are HUGE milestones in the occupational/fine motor skills realm
I've watched all his video and he is so adorable and you are blessed! He's making such great progress. It's seeing videos like this that reassures me that I want to be a speech language pathologist.

Great job being independent Zach. Keep up the good work. From Mountain View, CA The road ahead is a challenge but with hard work from the parents and child and the help of therapists will achieve the goal to be better. My son is 7 with mild left hemiplegia.
