  • @flawless5197 A privilege that should be lost by those who abuse it, not by those who most probably never have otherwise. I'm 19 also but I understand our system of law and it says that you cannot punish someone preemptively. the drinking age mandate effectively punishes people that are otherwise adults and have most probably never DUI'd and does not deal with them in the way that laws should. It does not deal with them as individuals and is a form of age discrimination.

  • Position of a person who nearly got hit by a drunk driver: I agree that drunk driving is a problem but then why not push for draconian DUI policies instead of a blanket law that makes things worse? 2 years in the slammer for the first offense and so on. Even a few months in prison with hardened criminals scares the crap out of most people. Also, we have the laziest BAC limits in the world. Why doesn't MADD get mad about this?

  • @stud0003 Maybe so, but at least he has an education with a proper grasp of the English language.

  • Chuck Hurley makes me so mad!!! I don't care what the numbers are. I am 19, and I am a FULL CITIZEN!

    I'm not 1/2 a citizen or 3/5 of a person!

    I am a man!

  • @flawless5197 obviously i kn tell u hve no life n never invited to paries

  • Leave it!!!!!! At 21!!!!!!!! Im 19 and the way i see it drinking is not a right but a privilege.

  • I always thought they had the drinking age at 21 because of how the body develops. Most people aren't done going threw puberty until they are about 24, 25 and because of that some people think they should raise the drinking age. Drinking effects the development so thats why it's at 21 and not 18 because people always look at it as thats around the time your done developing.

  • @Brownton4 Second of all, lowering the drinking age wont stop binge drinking behind closed doors. Most of my bars you have to be 18 to enter. Most 18 year olds have little teenage girls that want to get messed up as well. Put 2 and 2 together.

  • I had to pause this at 2 mintuets to say my two cents. First of all the first guest speaker is wrong. I'v seen binge drinkers at bars all the time. Social gatherings with inmature 21 year and 40 year olds acting stupid cause they can't controll their habits. I'm 22 and have a hell of a lot more control then half of the kids my age as well as my co-workers who are twice as old as me.
