The original TAC ad portrays motorcyclists as suicidal idiots who will inevitably die. It's a turn off for riders, and just confirms the worst prejudices of the rest of the population. The latter has the very real effect of making the roads even more, rather than less, dangerous for motorcyclists. This is a remake of the TAC, done by Motorcycle Trader magazine at http://www.mctrader.com.au.

This makes me think of Australia Post, where, due to the great intelligence of a fully qualified desk rider, we (as in Posties) will all be soon riding our CT 110's with a flag flying off the back of our bikes.Obviously we are not visible enough to be seen and the desk rider is concerned about our 'safety', or is it because Comcare's premiums have gone up?
What ever the reason, does anybody REALLY think that the person reversing out of their driveway is going to be looking anyway?

On another tack. Two years ago MRA(Vic) pitched an idea at the TAC - suggesting that they run a competition where riders could create safety videos just like this one. they canned the idea because they were paranoid about the idea that riders would film themselves.
Well MCtrader - you have proved them wrong. Maybe we should start a competition of our own.....??? MRA would be happy to hear from you....

Yes, if only the TAC knew how to talk our language then they would understand how to reach us.
