Biogas is becoming a popular renewable energy source in the Baltic nations. Biogas-fueled buses have been used for decades in Sweden, and now Finland and Estonia are looking to use biogas for transportation as well. Tiit Kallaste, director of the SEI-T CEA (Climate, Energy and Atmosphere) Programme in SEI's Tallinn Centre, Estonia, talks about research on the biogas potential of biodegradable waste, manure, sludges and energy crops.
