Dubai's Record High Tower

*Nakheel Tower (or previously known as Tall Tower/Al Burj) has been finally revealed. Nakheel Tower, planned by local real estate developer Nakheel, will be the worlds tallest tower being over 1000 meters in height. Located along the intersection of Sheikh Zayed Road and the Arabian Canal, currently under construction, it will cover an area of more than 270 hectares, and will be home to a population of 55000. It will include four towers in a single structure, connected by the sky bridges. Emaar's Burj Dubai, which is currently the tallest tower in the world, standing high over 630 meters, is likely to touch 900 meters on completion which will be ready by early 2009. Burj Dubai is going to hold the world's tallest title for at least another 10 years, as the construction of the Nakheel Tower will take minimum 10 years. The 508 meter tall Taipei 101 in Taiwan is now the second tallest building in the world. The development in Dubai is said to be influenced by the strong leadership of Sheikh Rashid, the 8th ruler of Dubai from 1958-1990. Sheikh Rashid ruled the emirates with a clear vision of what was required in order to transform Dubai into a modern city. He believed that the capital from oil is non-permanent and since 1900 and actively worked on the development in financial services industry. His vision has been advanced by the 9th ruler Sheikh Maktoum and the 10th ruler Sheikh Mohammed, both from the Al Maktoum family.

7boon, thats correct, aall the schemme's are limited liability, so if it goes down you get nothing, yet the buildings are built and dubai still benefits from it.
