  • @frankwestphalk - thank you for your comments. We continue to work with BP and other oil companies in trying to get in front of them so that they can have our products ready to go WHEN the next spill happens. It's a long, arduous road however (as you might imagine).

  • @payit4ward - BP used it to some extent in the Gulf spill.

@Hmoob - He drinks it at the end of the video

@hudson - We were contacted regarding the Enbridge spill but were not able to act quickly enough and they ended up using up polypropylene absorbents ( I believe). And yes, unlike polypropylene, Ultra-X-Tex can be reused.

  • @Naturepheonix - Not sure what you're trying to say but the sample that we used is fairly representative of an actual oil spill on water.

  • bro he drank it thats fucking amazing

  • this material has an even bigger potenial, i know an industry, that material would be a big seller in if it was available, not just oil spills, i like it a lot

  • video starts at 3:00 he drinks it at 6:00

  • Over 30 miles of the Ultra-X-Tex was used by BP during the Gulf Oil Spill and it proved to be successful. There is also floating debris and other non-oil related particles in most water applications. The Ultra-X-Tex is able to filter the water/oil in these applications until it saturates. Certainly, anytype of filter can clog if the application blinds it over too quickly. We have not found an application yet where the Ultra-X-Tex did not work due to blind over. Your comment has vailidity.

  • motor oil is highly refined meaning there are no large particulates, real crude would clog the x-tex, not only that it would take a sheet of this stuff the SIZE of Texas to do any good

  • Is there a way to get the oil out of the fabric so i can use it in my burner?

  • Want to know why more innovative products like this aren't being used in situations that call for them?? Read through these comments. These are modern americans voicing their opinions. I think it's safe to say we have problems. Have any of you people ever stopped to realize just how fucking stupid you sound? It's like I'm reading comments from a drunk 16 year old. WAKE UP DUMB ASSES!!!

  • Great product! Just another demonstration that there ARE solutions to almost all of, what are perceived as, our problems. Now if we could just make oil companies like BP use products like this in the event of a spill.... and find a way to stop oil lobbies from controlling our legislature. Oh wait! That CAN happen too.... all you stupid people just have to be smart enough to not put liars in office, and start demanding alternative energy sources and innovative products like this.

  • great idea though :D
