Best "Superman/Superboy" actors ever, ranked:

1. Christopher Reeve (100% ideal)

2. Tom Welling (This Generations Superman and also 100% ideal)

3. George Reeves (Amazing actor)

4. Dean Cain (Great modern day Clark Kent for the 90s anyway... But wasn't that great as Superman.)

5. John H. Newton (The better of the two Superboys from the tv show)

6. Gerard Christopher (Very good overall, and did fine with what he had to work with but didn't have the right "it" factor needed for that role.)

I agree with you about Christopher and John. Those are my super guys. Gerard did not appeal to me like John did. John had the MOST chemistry with Stacy.

Christopher is legendary, an icon.

Dean Cain was alright.

I loved John Haymes Newton as Superboy. He was made for the role. He had a somewhat striking resemblance to Christopher Reeve's Clark/Superman. He had better chemistry with Stacy Haduik's Lana. I lost interest and stopped watching when he left.

I thought John H. Newton was a good Clark Kent/Superboy. I would've love seeing him throughout the whole run of Superboy. Yet season one lacked good scripts and major villans besides Mr. Myklplyk.

Well, these are the only ones I liked. I hated it when Newton was replaced by Gerard and never saw Superboy again. As for Dean Cain, hot yet not hero-ish, indifferent to Brandon Routh, and sorry Smallville fans: Welling, my least favorite; he would never look good in classic Superman costume (he was cast precisely as the no-costume Superman after all).

Yeah, I understand. Newton? I wouldn't have known considering I never saw much of the Superboy show. But, I look at Tom and I see Superman.
