Recorded during training before a concert of pupils of Philippe Sauvage, titular of the great Cavaillé-Coll of Saint-Pierre de Neuilly, next to Paris, who himself had Marie-Claire Alain as teacher.
He's with my little voice recorder in middle of church (don't mind the sound quality, nevertheless with good speakers you'll hear 16' and 32' reeds :-), and me playing.
Actually despite Vierne proposes to put 32' reeds from the begining, we put it only for the final tutti, and 8'+4' chamades for the last 10 seconds.
I started to learn this Carillon in december, this was recorded mid-january, concert will be on 7th february (2010) ;-)
For the little story, this is the last organ designed by Cavaillé-Coll as it was started in 1898, he died in 1899 if I'm not wrong, and the organ was finished in 1900 by Mutin. It's also the organ Vierne wanted to be titular on, but as he was accepted in Notre-Dame he didn't miss this great opportunity.
Very well played! I wish the audio quality was better! When you can, please record more!
