Just did this hike 2 days ago with a group ranging from very experienced to not so much. Took about 7 hours with a 45 minute rest and lots of photo taking. The rock field was my personal challenge - I fell once. It is a bit of a difficult hike but well worth it. Good elevation gain. 10 out of 10. On our return, a huge storm began to kick up with lots of thunder and some lightening. Fortunately, the rain held off til we got back to the parking lot.

just don't get stuck at the very top of the glacier in the middle of the night, haha, that's my sugguestion

If they're a bit older they should be able to. There's a tricky rock section, the rest is pretty straight forward.
