I always thought the suitcase was full of heroine. There are only 2 characters who look inside the case Vincent Vega and Tim Roth- We know Vince is into smack and judging by their manic behavior I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that Roth and Honeybunny are robbing places up in order to feed a drug habit. The light inside the suitcase is showing us a drug addicts perspective

And what else would 4 guys being doing living together in a cheap apartment other then selling drugs?

My own personal superhero

my own hero is a person who is unaware he has dual personality and schizophrenia. As a kid he was a fan of comic books and as he grows into his twenties he makes a painted hockey mask and a hoodie and fights actual thugs with no real experience. As he goes more insane he develops these imaginary supervillans and sidekick. He also begins the dual personality with his arch-nemisis. Also throughout the book the reader and hero are unaware that he is mentally ill and that him and his.../ continued
