Accessing the Voicemail system
To access the voicemail system from your 8x8 desk phone, just dial extension 555. Then enter your password and press #. If you are away from your phone, dial your phone number and press # to interrupt your greeting. Then enter your password and press # again.
Record a greeting
To record a greeting, access your voicemail system, then press star to access the voicemail menu. To record your primary greetings, press 2.
There are three primary greetings that you can record:
• Press 1 to record your first and last name, which callers will hear if they select Dial-By-Name or Company Directory from the Auto-Attendant.
• Press 2 to record an Internal Greeting, played only to those who call from within your company's phone system
• Press 3 to record an External Greeting, played only to people who call from outside your company's phone system
You can also record a number of alternative greetings for specific purposes:
• For your after business hours greeting, press 4
• For your lunch time greeting, press 5
• For your "in-meeting" greeting, press 6
• To record a greeting for weekends, press 7
• And to record a greeting for vacations, press 8
Once you're done recording a greeting, you can press the star key to return to the voicemail menu, or press 9 to exit.
Set a specific greeting to play
To set a specific greeting to play, access your voicemail system, then press star to access the voicemail menu. To select which greeting to play press 5.
• To activate your business hours greeting, press 1
• For your after hours greeting, press 2
• For your lunch time greeting, press 3
• For your "in-meeting" greeting, press 4
• For your weekend greeting, press 5
• For your vacation greeting, press 6
• To listen to your current greeting press 0
Once you're done setting a greeting, you can press the star key to return to the voicemail menu, or press 9 to exit.
Change User Preferences (password, email notification, etc.)
To change user preferences such as passwords, or email notifications, access your voicemail system, then press star to access the voicemail menu.
To change user preferences press 3.
• To change your Password, press 1
• For Call Waiting preferences, press 3
• To change your call forwarding preferences, press 4
• To change your email notification preferences, press 6
Once you're done setting your preferences, you can press the star key to return to the voicemail menu, or press 9 to exit.
