@hbdywtk Jan and Dean NEVER took a back seat to The Beach Boys OR any one else. They were not just first but they were best. Any way Brian Wilson gave an awesome interview giveing Jan Berry his rightfuly credit

@BanjoBill427 : I was born in 54, been a fan since the mid 60s.The footage in this little clip is actually very cute, in a corny kind of 'Hollywood' way. But, I still find the music pretty damned lame (no disrespect intended) compared to the original studio production & commercial release (in which Brian W. had a hand, thereby imparting a peerless inherent quality to it). Nonetheless, thanks for your feedback on my original comment. I guess we can all be thankful that J & D music EXISTS, per se.

@colindominy Hmmmm.... Since Jan and Dean did the original, it is not a cover, just a different take by the original artist. A cover means you are "covering" a song by a different artist. I was born in '51, and I find this version entertaining - a humorous spoof on themselves. I guess I'm just picking up on the misuse of "cover". Can't a group re-do their own song?

NO cover version can remotely hope to come close to beating the originally-released versions - mainly dating from the 'Golden Era' of Sthn Calif music from 1963 / 64 - of these iconic, all-time classic ORIGINAL surf / hot-rod songs. There's an old but wise saying - one that still holds true : THE ORIGINAL & BEST ....
