I think its a little too close to the doorway. People might notice how similar in size and shape your bookcase is to a typical door in the house.
-
what type of hinges are you using for that?
great job I really like what youv'e done
-
People might wonder why they book case is empty

@nathaniel1220 I didn't see a gap once the door was completely closed, but even if there was, it's nothing a piece of rubber weather stripping wouldn't cure.

i never heard him flush!

Won’t some one think what is wrong putting a 12” deep book case in a wall that is usually only 4” deep ????
-
you should put 1 of thows pictures where you can remove the eyes and look out it

I have a bookcase that looks like that, but when I pull one side out from the wall there's no hidden room. Is there a trick I need to know to pull it out from the wall and reveal a hidden room?
-
u can see a gap between the bookcase and the floor.

Very nice job. But to make it look more real I would not finish it flush with the wall. I would have it as though it is pushed up against the wall. Looks very nice though
wow you can easily tell thats a secret room. when you close it you can see through those huge cracks. not cool

@jacksonbaseball22 actually what you are probably seeing is the shadow caused by the handmade fluted casing that the bookcase insets into about 5/8 of an inch. The actual gap is less than 1/16 of an inch. You can walk right by it and never know that it would open. The home owner was quite pleased.
