The Nordic Heritage Museum is in the midst of the most exciting transformation since its founding in 1980. After 25 years in its current home, the Museum is embarking on a journey to build a new facility with the space, location, and stature to engage future generations in learning about the Nordic immigrant experience in the Northwest and Scandinavian art and culture—past, present, and future. Contributions made to the campaign are directed toward acquiring nearly 75,000 square feet of property on Market Street in downtown Ballard and funding the construction of a state-of-the-art building in which the Museums exhibits, programs, and audiences will have the room to grow.

  • Thank YOU .... VERY appreciated

  • I really hope you will post a new video when that new museum is done! :) Im a Norwegian and I do have family that immigrated to the US in the 1920.

lykke til og jeg håper det noe museet blir stilig!

(good luck and I hope the new museum will be awesoem!)

  • @vikingskipdotcom

About 11 million Nordic Americans, not 20-25.

  • im not Nordic but I have always took interest in all things Scandinavian and Nordic! It also helps that my favorite city is Seattle,WA,so when I go back to Seattle in April 2011,I'll make sure that I visit this museum.See ya

  • @Greendices About 5 million people in the US are of Norwegian descent, just as many as live in Norway today (4.85 mill). I guess that some 20-25 million people living in the US today have Nordic ancestors. As intermarriage between the Nordic immigrants was common, it may be impossible to find the correct number.

  • is it many from the nordic countries in the u.s? i have relatives there.
