Bought a carb rebuild kit. Maybe it just needs to be de-gunked? I ended up removing the old manual decompressor cable.

The sound is good but I don't like the RPM oscilations at max. Were you playing with the throttle?
Your unit has an automatic decompressor, that is why the tag has been removed. The decompressor must be connected via a tight tube to the plastic carb flange (mount).
