Indian immunity appeared to be very weak, because Europeans arrived also to Australia, Asia .. and no epidemic was recorded there.
All of the above colonized countries receive every year Millions of $$$ £££ euros in aid money,food,western doctors and charity helpers every year and have done for the last 30 years.We do not have to do this we choose to.
