(Sacramento) -- As cameras clicked in the packed California State Assembly chambers, Richard Gordon and his fellow lawmakers were sworn into office by California's Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye. Assemblymember Gordon was chosen by voters in the 21st District, which includes much of the Silicon Valley, including the communities of San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Woodside, Portola Valley, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Monte Serrano and Los Gatos. "There are serious challenges for California. We have re-invented ourselves in the past and we will need to do so again. I assume my new responsibilities with an understanding of the magnitude of the task ahead and a belief in our ability to make California golden once again," said the newly minted Assemblymember. Here's more from Assemblymember Gordon in this Assembly Access video.
