The reason Orcs are almost always portrayed as villains is A) most people don't have the god-damn intelligence to think outside the box that Lord of the Rings built, and B) we've had the idea that anything not pretty or handsome is bad beaten into our skulls over the past fifty-forty years by just about every media outlet around.
