http://SmokingStrobes.com - In this video I will show you how to make a high key lighting setup with speedlights and shoot through umbrellas. This time I am going to use the high key lighting in order to emphasize the contrast between model Kates lower back tattoo and her rather pale skin. Emphasizing contrast is a typical use of high key photography. Photographing buttocks in high key might not be so typical, but it's working beautifully.

I wish you good light!

  • Hahahaha! Seriously, I can't resist making this American Hipster joke: The only thing here that's over exposed is her ass! No really I'm a photographer and shooting nude is on a weekly basis for me, just being an ass! Thanks for the vid I have finally found a video with someone who strobes like me, while every one is pushing as hard as they can to invent a new lighting technique, once people understand light, they will go back to the simple basics! Thanks alot!

  • u r a grate photographer

  • Though I would say extremely bright soft and clinical we go back to basics and say everyone sees a future image in his own eyes.

  • Great pictures....almost in every video, but please speak German. Your language is soooo bad!

  • Thanks but zee low key lighting works zee best with adult body parts yeah. The big takeaway was the fist in the crack image. . . not as sharming.

  • very nice, i would like to see you make portraits of your cousin, she has nice facial features. it would be cool to see how you light her.

  • Hey Michael, i recommend you the "strobox" app for iPhone. it may can help you with your drawins.

    Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • Hi Michael

Brilliant images, do you really need a back drop? You can still blast out 2 speedlights on full power behind the subject which makes the background white.

    Thanks

  • great images....I will try this out....
