The very same routine done by Bill Hicks on the Tonight Show with David Letterman that was banned and cut from the show. Bill would have said something along the lines of this. The master copy was destroyed and the only copy was sent to his mother.

@NickNorie15 He's being sarcastic dude. That's all there is to it. He's not part of a scheme against gay people. Tell me this, would a homophobic man repeatedly pretend to be engaging in sex acts with Satan show after show across America? Of course not! He was saying things to get people fired up and thinking. If he challenged their beliefs, good, at least they would defend them. His philosophy was "these are jokes, not propaganda"; only a moron would mistake his work in context as homophobia.

You truly are a sheep. Yes, that is sheep mentality: You're telling yourself lies to maintain the image of your idol intact. That's exactly one of the things Bill stood up against, mr. Sheep. I'm not saying Bill's routines were bullshit, I'm just saying he could have been a MUCH, MUCH better human being had he been open-minded in this issue. And yes, it is homophobia. He displayed his personal opinions every time he went on stage and that was obviously one of them.

@NickNorie15 ~cont~ but imo, it's too much of a jump to say he's a homophobe. That implies an active ignorance, fear, and even hatred of gays. Beyond this bit, and the use of the term 'real men' in the dance club bit, (where he makes more fun of himself then any gay people), he doesn't make any allusions to homophobia. (Apart from skits about enjoying girl on girl porn).

The 'Officer nigger hater' skit, was the one time he used the n-word. Against racism and the bias of the RK trial

@NickNorie15 I actually said I didn't agree with general use of terms like 'faggot'. I was only pointing out the mistake of holding up the 'heathers 2 mommies bit', as an example of homophobia.

In many ways he was ahead of time, with points he made and social commentary that's becoming more relevant today. But he was only human, and indeed did use certain words at the time which I doubt he would use now were he still alive. It doesn't make it more acceptable of course ~cont~

Okay, then. Suppose that particular joke was meant to criticize society's hypocrisy. What about all the rest? Just because homophobia was more accepted during his time that doesn't mean you can use that as an excuse. In fact, it completely goes against some his fan's claims that he was "ahead of his time". Was society more homophobic? Yes. Was he homophobic, reflecting a large part of his society? Yes. What do you have to say about that and the videos supporting my point?
