i remember listening to this tune 2 years ago when i was in Iraq..

it was very fitting of the mood especially when it was close to coming home.

but sad at the same time because we were leaving people we grew close with while we were there.

my husband grandmother passed away the other day....she pretty much raised him...he was her prince and could do NO wrong......he played this as soon as we heard she had taken her last breath. so this is for him and Nanny.

In the months following the loss of my mom my ex and I attended an amazing Hootie concert at Oak Mountain Amphitheater. When they played this song the sky, as if sensing my pain, opened up in a heavy rain mixing with the tears running down my face. It was both a heartbreaking and cathartic moment in my healing process. Love these guys, love this song.

@tlmaroney1 I am on the verge of losing my grandmother to cancer and like your husband, my grandmother raised me since childhood and she looks upon me as her favorite grandson out of 19 grandchildren. I'm scared, I don't know what to do for her as I've done all I can. Time heals all wounds but I will miss her and god will bless her and your husbands grandmother. Be well and stay well always.

Very bittersweet song.Reminds me of my mom somehow.we were never close and she never really wanted me and loved me like I loved her.She passed away before we spoke our peace.sometimes i wonder.
