  • When you deform the mesh so much that the squares get so big which solution do you recommend in order to reshape the entire mesh? I always start deforming but when I get those big squares I don't know what to do.At 0:11 you've got low res parts mixed with high definition ones, how do you correct that? That alien reptile looks fantastic by the way!

  • @RAYXNUM1

you mean subdivision?? just press crtl+d to subdivise your mesh. and shift+d to return to a lower level.

  • @veustube Well yes and no, I mean on 0:11 you've got more resolution in some places of the mesh, for example on the face you've got bigger quads while in other parts you've got tinnier ones, I mean, when you are stretching the mesh so much that the maya gets irregular how do you manage to get a regular resolution mesh? I'll send you a picture of what I'm saying.

  • @RAYXNUM1

haaa i see what umean ok, well it depends about the basemesh u have from the start.

you must create it in maya or 3dsmax then import it.

    that's the old school way.

first create a basemesh that's is close to your artwork, then sculpt.

Nowadays just use dynamesh create whatever u want then retopologize it with zbrush or topogun or else...

you had also the project all button before dynamesh but i wasn't so cool as dynamesh

  • @RAYXNUM1

i forgot if you want to create mesh in zbrush you can create an edge loop if you need it, just hide all polygons except the low res parts that you want to create the new resolution in, then press edge loop button. if my memory is good u can do it only on level 1 of your subdivision.

  • @veustube Thanks a lot, yea dynamesh works really cool but I'm new on Zbrush so anytime I start a work I tend to strech everything a lot which makes quads very huge in some areas making an irregular mesh, I just have to get used to it. Thanks for the tips. I'll be looking forward for more of your sculps!
