Rav-E is not your average South Asian DJ. While being a lover of all types of music, he is naturally drawn towards the the folk music of his motherland Punjab known as Bhangra. Possessing the ability to mix up Hip-Hop, R&B, and House music as well, Rav-E has a real infatuation with the rich dhol driven and tumbi infused beats of Bhangra. Along with mixing it up on the decks, Rav-E also is an exceptional talent on the dhol. This DJ/Dhol Player is sticking close to his roots and is striving to further facilitate Bhangras transcendence across musical and cultural barriers. His goal is to bridge the gap and introduce the genre and form of dance to new ears with hope of taking it to a whole new internationally acclaimed level of recognition. Rav-E has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the biggest acts from around the world including Ziggy Marley, Dr. Zeus, Bobby Friction, Juggy D, Bikram Singh, Michael Franti, and Kush Arorra to name a few. As a resident at San Franciscos legendary monthly event known as Non Stop Bhangra he implements his skills on the decks and the dhol keeping crowds dancing Non Stop.
