Here's a skinny young fella that certainly knows how to entertain a crowd. Our high hopes for him were somewhat diminished by his struggles with injuries that now shamefully (for our sport) seem to be "just a right of passage" for top skaters.

He would later give us one of the most exciting and satisfying evenings of skating in 2007, winning the US National Silver medal! One of skatings, all time, GREAT moments.

Still fighting injuries, we all hope he again puts together those two great performances. A true skating "STAR", he will no doubt have a long and successful professional career!!

He would

    2011 US NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!

    After 10 years...he's done it!

    I'm so proud of him!

  • @aemeraldrainc Yes, and don't think I am not THRILLED to death about it!!! I am still crying tears (of joy) this morning, and it's Monday already!!! Such a brilliant SP. Alissa and Ryan...what a First Couple of American skating. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for commenting. best wishes

  • Yes!! I do see you at 2:37!! So many things need to be re-introduced to this sport!! It is fading so fast in the public mind....I do think Ryan will have a National title someday...it just takes 2 good programs!!! The secret may be in his weight!!! If he looks thin and trim....WATCH OUT!!! But he can do no wrong in my book...National title or not!! thanks for commenting! Hope National is a great time this year!!! best wishes

  • @aemeraldrainc I know! I'm so happy he won! I love him so much!

  • I saw him skate this program and loved it! (I am the one in the blue turtleneck sweater in the front row just to the left of the "H" in the "HERSHEY KISSES" sign)He continues to skate and entertain us with his love for the sport! I remember in the kiss and cry area someone gave him a large cut-out of Austin Powers. Too bad they don't let the audience toss "gifts" like that onto the ice anymore. I can't wait to see him again this year, although I won't have a front row seat, unfortunately.
