With Temple Grandins' HBO film winning so many awards we decided to give you an introduction to Temple Grandin, as read by Karen Simmons the founder of Autism Today. Video Also includes footage of Temple giving her talk on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
@nikkilovesdustie exactly the way i felt, it felt like a burden back then but when told and shown how far i reached into my life. right now i'm in High School! last year too. its funny...i doubted myself countlessly for having it but when having a small talk about it...it really made me think about it and saw it clearly that i made this far in my life. my life is a lot more worth than told and it can be regrettably better than people with or without it.
I love that Temple teaches the importance of diversity of the human mind. Today it seems people are still taught that autism is a defect rather than a blessing. There are speculations that vacines cause autism due to high levels of mercury. Why can't we just accept that maybe they were meant to thik the way they do and there is nothing wrong with that? Most autisic people I have met are way smarter and a bigger assest to the world than others who don't even care about anything important.
