The legend of Terra Australis wasn't put to bed after Cook's first vogage - his second voyage was entirely dedicated to finding it, becoming the first person to cross the Antarctic Circle in the process (although he didn't quite reach Antarctica).

I will assume that you're trying to say "don't forget he stole a lot of f'ing country aswell" - learn how to spell, please. He didn't. The Britains who came after him did.
