What style does she study?

karate and traditional wushu does not mix at all.. im sorry but seeing how traditional weapons are becoming so modernized and forms are becoming just flashy and no meaning

Beautiful routine. But after 20 years, the more martial artists I'm runnin into, the more I'm wishing Asian cultures had kept these arts to themselves.
Too much skills, not enough respect.
Shame on so many students.

dallas competiton = low level...
i rather not say, but *coughs* awful performance... what was her score?

Dallas? Try again. Washington, DC - one of the top tournaments on the NASKA circuit. She was against Jenny Espina, Caitlin Dechelle and Nicolle Provost, and tied for 2nd. Low level? They're some of the best competitors on the circuit. Awful performance? Let's see a video of you doing it any better, jackass.

I have actually never seen his earlier forms - but I have heard from a couple of people that they were more traditional looking. I love traditional double chain work, hence the form posted here. But the form he did this year... I am posting it to my web site now. Take a look, then you'll know what I meant by "XMA-ifying" the form. evolutionkarateDOTcomSLASHdwcJohnSuDOTwmv

I see what you mean.
He still has sick talent, but could do with less theatrics. I DO like his older form better... but do like the "rewind" move in this one. I do see your point about how he has changed a little bit.
Do you know where I can find more of him?

I agree, the "rewind" move is cool. I really do not like the attempt to strike w/ the chains, however. And starting w/ single chain, then separating them, seems like a neat idea, but I don't think it came off very well. This video was on sportmartialartsDOTcom a while back. I haven't been able to find anything else of his anywhere. A buddy of mine has an old 8mm tape of him doing chains about five years ago. He's supposed to be getting that tape to me - if he does, I'll post it here.
