The monkey appears to get frustrated with how slow the arm is.

The only "suffering" I see is that the monkey twitches when it tries to reach for food, and that's just because it is not used to the arm. The monkey is at last being fed and taken care of, and, chances are, it will live longer than it would have in the wild. Plus BCI is a very promising technology that could better the lives of many people who've lost appendages, be it war or a freak accident.

But how do we know if people aren't just controlling the arm?

...yet people still genuinely believe that animals do not "think".

There is no need for us at this point to dissect a monkey's brain.

The monkey's head is being used for a lab experiment, get over it.

Its better it dies in a safe environment than get eaten by a Leopard, Jaguar, Cougar, Python, Crocodile, Caiman, Boa Constrictor, Chimp... etc.

Your precious and safe animal kingdom is a lot more violent than we humans are, in modern civilizations.

Also Kudos for being Vegan, I could never do that.
