They don't like it because it isn't "Metallica" enough for them. They didn't even like it in '84, a year after they released it, and James could have easily sung it. They made it so it might attract a more mainstream crowd, and that plan failed lol. And these words are coming from them, not me.

Still like the song though. It is known.

Weakest song on an otherwise excellent album. Made much more so because it comes right before Creeping Death. Sounds like the song was filler, just so they could balance out the length of both sides of the album.

There is not ONE bad song on Ride the lightning. Awesomest(they all good in a way) Album by Metallica by far in my opinion:)

The reason they didn't like it was because it was a random unused riff from Kirk that he insisted on using, with improvised drums and thrown together lyrics, although still an awesome song
