She shakes her head, refusing to take the sweater, no it-
Its ok, Joe interrupts her, you saved my life, the least I can do is let you have the sweater.
Demi looks down, smiling to herself, Thanks, she softly whispers.
Selena turns back to them, Hurry up!, she hollers.
Joe picks his board up, keeping it to his side, dont get your panties in a bunch, were coming!
Selena turns to him, glaring, Shut it.
Joe nods, him and Demi running up to her.
From the corner of her eye, Selena notices David coming her way, the corners of her mouth turning into a smile.
Hey David!, she calls out, standing on her tip-toes.
He waves, running over to her, Hey Selena.
She smiles widely, giggling as David chuckled.
Whoa, she isnt a monster after all, Joe whispers, causing Demi to laugh.
Selena sighs, her face turning red, JOE!!!!
Demi steps in front of him, blocking Selena, Dont, she says, staring straight into her eyes.
Selena sighs, turning to David, and grabbing a hold of his hand, lets go.
They walk away, leaving Joe and Demi there.
He turns to her, smiling, thanks, he pauses, again.
Demi nods, no problem.
Demi continues walking, Joe following beside her, so, he begins, are you new or, what? I dont think Ive seen you here before.
Demi shakes her head, um, no, Im Nicks sister.
Joe looks down, damn it, he mutters, Nick knows all the pretty girls.
Demi giggles, turning red, she covers her face as they stop in front of his and Nicks dorm.
So I guess this is bye, she says, a bit disappointed.
Joe shakes his head, no.
Demi looks up at him, raising her left eyebrow, no?
Joe nods, smiling, no, I owe you one for saving my life, he takes Demis hand, how bout some lunch, on me?
Id love that, Demi says, her stomach tying in a knot as she remembered something, crap.
What?
Uh, she begins, Im sorry, but I have to see Nick at his baseball tryouts.
Joes eyes widen, shit, I forgot, I got to go too, he turns to Demi, see you there, he smirks flirtatiously before running off.
Demi swoons, putting her hand to her heart, she heads up the stairs, careful not to run into Joe again, making her way into the dorms.
She quickly changes back to Nick, butterflies swarming in her stomach as she prepared for the game, this is it, she whispers.
-Tryouts-
Demi tapped her foot impatiently, clutching her stomach as she watched everyone before her go up.
She was number 22, her heart racing when the coach called 21.
Looking out into the stands, her heart sunk, Joe was speaking to Miley, and from the looks of it, they were flirting.
How did she know?
Her and Miley have been best friends ever since 5th grade and she sure knows what it means when shes blushing way too much.
Demi sighs as she turns back to the game, Selena standing beside her, chewing gum.
Demi jumps back startled, following Selenas gaze, who is too, watching Miley and Joe.
You want me to kick her ass?, Selena asks, blowing a bubble.
Demi sighs, shaking her head, no, its ok.
Selena turns to her, Oh come on? I want to relieve my stress.
Demi playfully smacks Selena, Stop it! Mileys your friend.
Yeah, but if I hurt her, then Joe will suffer, which will make me really happy, she turns to Demi, do you not want me to be happy?
Demi chuckles, pushing her away, shut it.
She pouts, slumping in her seat, fine.
Number 22!!, The coach calls out.
Demis heart stops.
She stands up, making her way into the field, her mind now set on one thing:: making the team.
