Phantasmagoria

This video was taken inside the Phantasmagoria ride at Bell's Amusement Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2006. Our three-year-old son was fascinated with this ride and got the courage to ride it once. After that he wanted us to retell each part of the ride over and over to him. We eventually videotaped ourselves riding it so that we could show him the video when we got tired of recounting the ride to him. Now, one year later, Bell's is dismantled and closed due to a conflict with the County Fair Board. Our son vividly remembers the amusement park and continually asks about it. We are so sad it's gone and that he won't get to form many memories there the way that we did as kids growing up in Tulsa.

Just today, we took our son to the Tulsa zoo where he threw a penny in a wishing well. I listened to him making his wish, which was that the Phantasmagoria would come back. It still amazes me that he is fascinated with a ride he rode a year and a half ago...when he was only three years old. After he made his wish, I mumbled that I wished Randi Miller were standing behind him to hear that.

Great vid, although it doesn't do the ride justice, lots of darkness on the vid.....so many great scenes in this ride and I remember it being one of the best dark rides I've ever been on along with the Spelunker's Cave at Six Flags over Texas which is also no longer.

Thanks for the memory. This is when they changed the ride and took out the two dips. There was one in the start of the ride after you turned the corner and the second was when you come out of the house. They took them out because stuffed animals kept getting stuck in the tracks
