Thank you Senator Grassley for having the willpower to raise this issue to the forefront. Jon Stewart (while not a noted academic) but it quite well in the 6/17/2010 episode - the past 8 President's have made some commitment towards renewable & domestic energy...but their goals have all fallen quite short. We need to address this issue today and realize the petro is killing America's economy, people, and security.
Biofuel is just another failure created by government. It is wastefull and too expensive to burn food then keep propping up a failed foolish political program. Every year we continue to throw billions of our tax dollars to farmers not to grow crops. This has grown every year for 50 years, what is the benefit and will it ever end? I am tired of funding my own demise. Time to clean house in 2010.
I would like to see Diesenol pushed more in the us, I don't think Diesenol gels at 40 degrees like bio Diesel. I live in Minnesota we need a substitute for diesel in the winter.

I don't see why the gov should be picking winners...tax all fuels based upon their lifecycle emissions, the best will come out in the end.
