On June 14th, 15th, and 16th, ROC convened the 3rd Annual National Restaurant Workers' Convening in New Orleans, LA. Over 100 restaurant workers and supporters from eleven different locales nationwide came together to share and learn strategies for improving restaurant working conditions and increasing opportunities for advancement to living-wage jobs in the industry. On Monday, June 15th, the participants were joined by New Orleans residents to form a "Second Line" march through the French Quarter. 125 restaurant workers and allies marched behind one of the Crescent City's up-and-coming brass bands, showing their support for restaurant workers in post-Katrina New Orleans. This event, as you can see, was featured on the local news.
