  • @agmorlan2 I found the meaning more metophorical as in "Only clowns would play with those balloons..." relating to women feeling they have to embrace a certain image , behave a certain way that the media promotes. or surround themselves with certain people to be deemed as beautiful. ie the balloons are all of those concepts tied in a bow and Goldfrapp perhaps is relfecting on times she mistakenly felt the "balloons" was something important to have, thus refering to herself as a clown.

    Clever!

  • that´s some nice footage. Fits the song.

  • @angie4josh I thought it was about boob implants.

  • @wearetheggmeninit It was me Josh that made that comment, Thanks!

  • @angie4josh Dude(tte), you're the clever one! She may have had no intention of the sort at all but I really like you're reflection on the words (and I hope she did!) Nice one

  • me encanta y recuerda a cocteau twins!!

  • @angie4josh I agree with the subject matter but I thought the metaphor of balloons was referring to fake boobs!

"Only clowns would play with those balloons

What d'ya wanna look like Barbie for

    Dear oh Lord, it's easy

    Roasting, roasting, roasting deed

    Mahagony

Titties that live on and on and on and on"

Maybe not so much a metaphor in that last line...

  • @dave8uk - it would be better if you had something in your mouth :p

  • beautiful, but would be better without something in her mouth while shes singing.

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • @TheFsharpminor Yeah you're right. It's just that others might have doubts when a guy like me listens to this kind of music. But I should care less ;)

  • @cnkl911 So? Music is a universal beauty. It doesn't have an age, a gender or a sexuality. You don't need to justify yourself to appreciate something.
