Mumblecore film Wah Do Dem out in cinemas 27th August 2010 in Ritzy Brixton, Picturehouse Greenwich, Cameo Edinburgh, Picturehouse at FACT Liverpool and Duke of York's Picturehouse Brighton.

Starring Sean Bones, Norah Jones, Carl Bradshaw and Kevin Bewersdorf the film also features a sublime Indie and reggae centric soundtrack from MGMT, Yeasayer, Santigold, Mykal Rose, Mr Lexx, Sean Bones and The Congos.

In "WAH DO DEM", young Brooklyn musician Max (Sean Bones) wins tickets to go on a Caribbean cruise but is forced to go alone when his girlfriend Willow (Norah Jones) dumps him out of the blue just two days before the voyage. Once in Jamaica, Max quickly escapes the tourist zone for more "authentic" surroundings and in the process is robbed of his possessions and is stranded, and literally misses the boat. As Max sets out for the American Embassy in Kingston on foot, Jamaica is waiting to meet him with unexpected and extraordinary encounters, including a full-moon celebration with the legendary reggae group The Congos, and a dreamy stay with a Rasta prophet (Carl Bradshaw, The Harder They Come).

"WAH DO DEM" is written and directed by Ben Chace and Sam Fleischner.

  • Another independent classic! This actually motivated me to have a desire to visit Jamaica

  • see there is one lesson to be learned never leave your valuables with a Jamaican. lol just kidding

  • @Britasx i knowganja smuglin,but i dont know next song.

  • @GarbageState your a damn retard. One I've never hear of a Jamaican escaping from Jamaica. I visit Jamaica every two years and as they say the end justify the means. In the end ill return as most do anyway

  • @lecilu uhmm yes i'm sure. they have no desire to go back. opportunities... call it what u want ))

  • @GarbageState Haha, are you sure they'd say they escaped from JA? Remember it's a Jamaican you're talking to right now...not everyone goes to a foreign country to escape, most times it's for the opportunities we don't have down here.

  • @lecilu not that different. i can't live in every place on earth but i can meet ppl, listen, watch, read because living is not an option. i talk to jamaicans occasionally. if they escaped from their land... can you argue with them? lol

  • @GarbageState Reading, watching and listening are completely different from living. Lots of wonderful people live here, I know from experience. Blanket statements like that are a bit uncool.
