Genesis:
The first time Nitin and Andy got together for creating a travel feature was when they had worked on an ad-lib feature on the Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park in May 2009. Prior to this Nitin and Andy have made several hiking/camping/birding trips in East Tennessee. Their interest in photography and creative arts is what got them to work together on the Travel Spotlight initiative. Though located at different geographies, Nitin and Andy frequently consult over prospective assignments.

About Andy Yegnaswami:
Andy Yegnaswami hails from Bengaluru, India and grew up at the Land of the Maharajas (Gwalior, MP), the Capital city (New Delhi) and good old Bengaluru. He travels between India and the United States of America on work and has visited 30 states in the US and 13 states in India. He loves to travel and is interested in photography, history is his forte and is passionate about understanding different cultures. He is working towards covering as many UNESCO world heritage sites in the world during his stint on the 3rd rock from the sun. Machu Picchu and Angkor Vat are among this must visit UNESCO sites.
Andy loves to read and enjoys writing to communicate all that he learnt while reading. He has been actively participating in quizzing and speaking events. Though working in a Information Technology firm, he has been anchoring television shows with the internal television channel at his company.
Freelance Journalism is something Andy aspires for and this is a first step towards that. Andy's areas of specialization are History of the Indian-Subcontinent, Arab-Israeli Conflict, present political scenario in the Indian-Subcontinent and Hindu Mythology, in addition to these he has interests in the areas of Military History, Greek Mythology and cultures of the world.Presently Andy has arrived in India, with the intent of leveraging the vast opportunities for travel features that this country has to offer.

From the creators' journal:
The Lake Mead/Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon N.P feature was a result of a "must do" drive and "a can make it happen attitude". There were bottlenecks aplenty when we started off on this quest. We had a equipment issue where we were not able to get the right equipment in time and Arjun saved the day for us by lending us his equipment in time for the trip. Not having a lapel microphone was a big disadvantage and it is a lesson well learnt - in popular spots it is essential to mitigate the ambient noise by using the lapel mic. We started off with no concrete Production Plan, but were able to improvise, however this is something we'd need to think about for our future assignments, creating a firm Production Plan would necessitate the needs for location scouting and other activities that might add a time and budget overhead to our already time constrained schedule; one lesson that we do take back from this trip is to have a ready and well rehearsed script, something which we did have for this
project. We made good use of the golden hour in the evening as we had planned and got a vivid hue in the final shots of the feature.
Post Production was far more challenging than anticipated, it took more than 20 hours for editing and rendering and it would be worthwhile to note that the PP involved only editing and organizing the clips and not enhancements to the raw video. The reason for the time-consuming effort was the lack of a powerful machine that would support the resource needs of the editing software. An investment in a machine that offers better performance and one that would support the needs of a heavy resource consuming software is the need of the hour. In the end the feature had to be split into 3 parts since the machine was not able to complete the rendering for a 12 minute feature. The feature has been shot, post-processed and shared, it is an accomplishment that would satiate our egos for a while, though the learnings from this first step is something that will fuel our future quests.

Thanks
