@harleybluemusic Sorry for the double post... I going to the Crown on tuesday scheduled for 2pm, I was planning on leaving from Brooklyn at 11AM which is about 45 min. away from the Ferry by train... do you think that is enough time? That's about 2 hours time TOTAL from the Ferry before it departs and then to the SOL including security. Also, I have to pick up my ticket not sure where which also may take time. I also heard that I can bypass some lines with Crown Access. Please lemme know thanks!

@IPteevee Hi, I just have one more question, I going to the Crown on tuesday scheduled for 2pm, I was planning on leaving from Brooklyn at 11AM which is about 45 min. away from the Ferry by train... do you think that is enough time? Hi, i have a few questions about the "head clearance." I am about 6'2 and a half but have kinda bad posture and slump over. Will I still be able to ascend the stairs to the crown do you think? There are literally only a few crown tickets left and I want to go so badly.
On a side note, I am a little afraid of heights and out of shape but i think those parts can be overcome!
Also, In October will the crown part be closed PERMANENTLY?? (or will it reopen at some point?) Please let me know!!

@1RonBurgundy1 I'm only a bit less tall than you and I had PLENTY of room. It was surprisingly not scarey doing this; you're always on the "ground" standing on the stairs. Plus, it's so interesting that you might forget to be afraid of heights or claustrophobic. I worried that it might be too strenuous, but they don't rush you and although I was a bit out of breath when I got to the top I think it would be manageable by almost anyone who is able to climb a couple of flights of stairs at home.

0:20 where's the elevator???
edmund104 1 year ago
@edmund104 The elevator only goes from the ground level to the top of the pedestal (the base of the statue.) From there the only way up is to climb the stairs! Also, if you intend to climb to the top, they won't let you take the elevator. They figure if you're going to have health problems climbing too many stairs, or get claustrophobic from being in the narrow stairwell, they'd rather have to rescue you from the lower levels than up inside the statue!

@xjbzgirl4evax You could originally, but not since it was damaged in 1916.
