they feel big on a fly rod just as any other fish would they are a huge gold fish and thry fight like one two on 8 lb test

They are one of the most challenging fresh water fish to catch on a fly. They can be stalked in flats and fight harder and longer than any just about every other fresh water fish. The problem is perception. People perceive them to be trash fish but that perception is changing. All I know is that I enjoy the challenge they present and they offer me a chance to catch fish when the salmon and trout are out of season.

The flats around the Traverse City (MI) region. Some decent carp fishing in the area.
