@shayanrafizadeh Agreed.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that instead of the modem sounds, we get some shitty song. Once again, youtube never fails to disappoint. Disliked.

It's nice to see an acoustic coupler on a C=64. I had a 1600 (VicModem) for quite a while (manual dial, but I'd work the rotary phone for hours to get through). When I finally scored a 1670, I was in my glory. Are you using a VIC-1011A RS-232 adapter to connect the acoustic coupler?

@herbalinguist
No it's a self-made RS-232 adapter (Doc Kirk did it *g*). Have a look at 0:14 and 5:33 in the clip ;)

As much as I appreciate my youth, I really wish I had been capable of higher-level thought/alive during this time period. I look at the internet as a day-to-day thing; when I was younger, it was special. A cool way of getting info that not everyone had (AOL 1.0; the earth, the key, I forgot the last one). But this; this is to a whole 'nother level. I participated in Attack of the Show's dial-up BBS when Tech TV was around; and that was a blast.
I miss when computer comm was something special.

What's "Attack of the Show's dial-up BBS"? Sort of retro bbs?
