A great fight from some of the greatest wushu players of all time. This first part mainly shows of Cheng-Hui Yu's terrific Wudong sword (which is a good example of what Wuxia is like but without wires). Then Jet comes to help with his Shaolin pole. At the end of Part 1 Yu Hai and Ji Chun Hua pit it out. Like Shaoin Temple 1 this lacks the sophistication of its Hong Kong counterparts in terms of choreography and editing, but old-style wushu like this is so hard to come by that nobody really cares. i love these older films because here we have a pretty serious fight here but somehow they still managed to sprinkle in some comedy in there without it being tacky or lame.. also i love how no one is immune to damage

Wow, i see some faces of people who are so old in jet li's later films and they are younger here and look so different kicking ass.

This is the first Jet Li movie I saw as a kid and I loved it, even though I didn't understand Chinese.
