I'll Fly Away

This is a student of mine playing her guitar and singing the old gospel song "I'll Fly Away". This young student has been with me only a few weeks and has worked very hard. This is a presentation she has prepared for her grandmother for Mother's Day. This young lady defiantely shows some real talent!

she has a good ear and is hearing well. once she she gets the technical thing worked out with the guitar, it will smooth out great. nice room to sing in! good job!

@bulletman100 This was done a good while back. She has since played in several of our recitals, and has won an award from the Nashville Symphony based on her guitar and piano playing as well as her singing. It was a summer youth musical competition.

@Maestrp37388 good for her. i live in memphis and have played electric and double bass for over 30 years. i have a 9 year old daughter getting interested in guitar, so i was looking around at 3/4 size videos to get some ideas. haven't taught beginner guitar in a long time! di am thinking of starting her on a 3/4 nylon string to get her fingers going.

She's still studying with me. She's now doing some Taylor Swift and Sweet Home Alabama, among other tings, including a little classical!

Wow, you learned this song so fast--you are doing great with your guitar lessons! And you sing so well, especially during your chord transitions; that's not easy to do for a beginner.
