http://www.autobytel.com/subaru/forester/2012/ The 2012 Subaru Forester is a great crossover SUV for those who do not want to drive a station wagon. The Forester is one of the best selling models for Subaru and it is also one of the most popular vehicles in the entire crossover segment. The 2012 Subaru Forester XT looks like an Impreza WRX on steroids. The base model Forester has a starting price of $20,595 which is very comparable to other crossovers. But the Forester has AWD standard. The base model is powered by a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder boxer engine that makes 170 horsepower. Fuel economy is 21 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. Step up to the higher level XT model for $27,095 and you can have a turbocharged version of the same engine that outs out 224 horsepower and 226 lb-ft. of torque. This model gets 19 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway, but if you ask any current Subaru Forester XT owner they will tell you the added power is awesome!

The interior of the 2012 Subaru Forester XT is quite comfortable. There are options to add a navigation unit and other exterior options if necessary. The competition is tough in the compact crossover category. But the Forester XT adds turbo power, all-wheel drive, strong safety ratings, and a competitive price to beat the competition.

  • @hottdylan1993 forester is to impreza as outback is to legacy.

  • Nice review. I really like the looks and traits of the Subaru Foresterr (good driver, solid and AWD) but the lack of manual in the higher trim levels and if you do go to one of those the only choice is an 4 speed auto, that makes it a deal breaker for me. Too bad, the interior is nicely laid out as well.

  • "looks like an Impreza on steroids" ? what? it looks nothing like the Impreza.

  • I want a forester xt.
