A carbon cap ..... Would kill millions... throttling back pollution = throttling back production = less jobs = increased debt = increased violence. Honestly, climate denialism IS a sort of a conspiracy. Not a quiet, shadowy one, but a well-funded, media-driven misrepresentation of the scientific evidence. 97% of practicing climate scientists agree, and many of the "research" organizations that don't have taken money from special interests like oil and coal.
