Every business will have to propagandize to promote their products or services. It's the only way it will grow. I think those people look very happy in what they are doing. Despite what other people think.

I think you just met some people that were full with their hands and forget the people that they promised. Those are people making the empty promises not Quixtar. You+Team=Success. Biggest part is you. Hopefully this experience does not taint your entreprenuership. I wish you luck in the future!

Don't get me wrong. I hope you succeed. But I'll choose business ventures that don't require such propoganda. Let me know when you're able to retire. Also, let me know if you've done it selling groceries and cosmetics through Quixtar, or selling motivational tapes to wide-eyed recruits.
Eye candy. Quixtar seems very big on promises, very low on other things like, um, accounting.

Oh, what makes you accuse them of being bad at accounting?

The complete absence of it in the introductory and training and recruiting materials I've seen. The difficulty I had in getting the guy pitching me to project costs -- no one wants to talk about expenses. No one wants to tell you about the pressure to buy tapes, and books, and seminar tickets.

Ok, well first of all that's not about Quixtar per se. You were dealing with an Independent Quixtar Rep. There's about a million of them registered in North America. If one of them doesn't want to talk about expenses, I wouldn't want to deal with them either - it's quite obviously a sensible part of any due diligence. So go find one who will!

The complete absence of anything besides cult-like optimism and promises of vast wealth seems to permeate all Quixtar materials, so it's not just the guy who tried to recruit me.
I know entrepreneurs. In fact, I am one. We are skeptical people. We talk about risks and expenses. When the concepts are legit, you don't need all this propaganda.

What Quixtar materials have you seen? Quixtar doesn't produce that many materials. My guess is your talking about materials produced by IBOs and groups of IBOs. There are many such groups and they operate in different manners.
I'm also an entrepreneur, I've numerous businesses, and Quixtar is a legitimate one.

FYI the IBOAI (the IBO Assocation International, a union if you will) has a deal of useful accounting advice for Quixtar IBOs on their website (you can google it), including a free eBook
