@tomato48 The 80's? Hahahahaha. Gay was commonly used as happy way earlier than that. And a large noticable amount of gay people have come out publicly earlier than the 80's. Learn some history. And the reason that gay is used to mean stupid by some people is because they thought a word that refers to homosexuals is negative because homosexuals are supposedly bad. Many insulting words originally did not mean insulting things.

@tomato48 Not true. The majority people I've run into and most online usages all allude to it being used as "stupid". Also, happy was the original definition (still is), but gay started to reference homosexuals because scientists began to identify them that way... I've never heard of gay being commonly known as an acceptable synonym for stupid.
