Exactly. Absolutely true, some amvs are basically clips taken directly from the anime unedited and thrown against music. Not so fun to watch and shouldn't even be called amv's.

the key is, it has to be done correctly. most amv's arent done properly, so they suck

However I understand that a lot and I mean a lot of so called AMVs are really dumb and pointless, but not all of them. This one's okay (it has potential) and if its done right I think and AMV can have nothing to do with the anime if the creator really knows what they're doing and still leave an awesome impact.
